Sing

No matter your vocal talents, take time to sing and rhyme with your child. Any song, nursery rhyme or sentence will work. Singing slows down speech so children can hear the sounds that make up words. This helps beginning talkers and readers.

• Sing in the car, while changing or dressing your baby, or whenever you have a free moment.
• The alphabet song teaches letters and sounds.
